How often must I wear my aligners?
24/7 – removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss to ensure optimal results.

Are there restrictions on what I can eat while in treatment
No!  Unlike conventional orthodontic treatment with wires and brackets, you may eat whatever you like.  Please brush your teeth before replacing your aligners.

Will wearing aligners affect my speech?
There may be a short adjustment period, usually one day or less.

Is there much discomfort with Invisalign treatment?
You will feel slight pressure or discomfort for a day or so after you change to a new set of aligners.

Will cigarette smoking stain the aligners?
What a perfect time the kick the habit!  We discourage smoking with your aligners in, as they can become discolored.

Can I chew gum?
No! Gum will stick to your aligners.

How do I clean my aligners?
Brushing them with toothpaste and lukewarm water should be sufficient to keep them clean.

Does Invisalign work for kids?
Yes, if their teeth, including second molars, have grown in completely.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Treatment time varies depending on the severity of the orthodontic condition. In many case, treatment time can be less than traditional braces, taking between six and 18 months.

How often will I have appointments with Invisalign?
Regular appointments every 8 to 14 weeks will be needed. This will ensure that treatment is progressing as planned.

What happens after my treatment is complete? Do I need retainers?
All of our orthodontic patients are instructed to wear their retainers at night indefinitely. Sleeping with your retainers in at night will ensure a healthy bite and maintain your healthy new smile.
